Ms Mamata Banerjee, CM West Bengal has won the Bhawanipur Assembly bye poll with a margin of 54000 votes defeating her CPI rival Nandita Mukherji...she is the second CM in West Bengal to win a bye election after being appointed as the Chief Minister....Who was the first CM to win such a bye election after being appointed as CM?

It was Mr. Manuda, I mean Lt. Siddhartha Sankar Roy. At that time he was the Education Minister in the Central Cabinet from Raiganj Parliamentary constituency of West Bengal. He risgned from the both and so far I can recollect, he won the Chowranghee Assembly Constituion in Kolakata.
