Q.

A dalit woman was beaten up , paraded semi nude because her son eloped with a upper caste girl in Satara, Maharashtra. The police do not arrest the accused. Why is such barbaric mentality still exist in india. Are we better or worst than Arab countries with such incidents happening in this day and age.

As long as the caste based mutts and the Castacharyas are are there, we can do nothing against these caste-sins. They always justify the Varnasrama-adharma and won't allow caste cease to exist!

Police tried their best to delay arrests as people who thrashed 45-year-old Woman and made her strip are close to a powerful aide of Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan in Satara district, claim Dalit activists.

I read the news.
So far, such news related to acts of cruelity were more sourced from Haryana, Rajasthan and UP. Maharashtra being relatively advanced state, probably people decided to show they also can do such shameful act.

All have seen it, but nobody was punished, and nobody was probably has lodged complaint about it. So, take it as a norm in the Maharashtrian society to do nude parades of women.
Why complain about Fashion TV, at least there is no visible abuse.

As long as ppl. and politicians harbour caste and religions for votes and reservation; one can not expect the better behaviour from the mass. One has to curb the caste and religions and make India it a Secular state, not only on paper, but in reality.

What cannot be cured must be endured ... maybe this is the policy being adopted by the sufferers and the spectators in our society. Very sorry state of affairs.
