Because he was never at peace when alive !! he was brought up by an uncle as foster son....never experienced love of "real" relationships(sister, brother, father, mother.) it was this bitterness that never allowed him to be at peace....with anybody!! now when he is in PARADISE,we all wish....peace be upon him !!

Every one needs mercy and blesings of God being his creations .even people in paradise need blessings of God .Peace is the greetings beleivers believe in this life and the herafter .we ask God almighty to invoke his blessings on the Prophets of God .This way our direct relationship is continually established . God is source of mercy and God send Prophet pbuh as mercy to all mankind as mentioned in the Quran . iT'S love and reverance to these mighty massengers of God and our submission to God to pray to him for those present with salams and those departed with prayer to bless them as he alone is source of all mercy and blessings which God has in infinite limits . Peace !!! Ameen !!!!
