Yes. Mostly so. The rich are not rich without a reason. They concentrate on earning money only and money is everything for them. Emotions are waste of time for them. Therefore, they cannot attach their heart with anyone, even with the kiths and kins some times. Friends remain away, as he ,at times, ignores them and hurt them. All these things make him lonely and unhappy in later part of his life. While the middle class and poors consider friends as most lovable persons, and welcomes them. Any person surrounded by friends, cannot remain unhappy, even in pain.

I have come across exceptions in both cases and hence it is wrong to generalise that rich are unhappy and poor are surrounded by friends. But I agree that wealth does bring in so many inter relationship problems that require careful handling whereas in adversity, you can find common ground with many. Nowadays, everybody is trying to chase wealth and in the process keeping themselves surrounded by tension and problems leaving very little time for happiness or relationship management.

Dear JS,
Good evening.
As honey attracts itself many a contender, worthy or unworthy alike, similarly rich people find catorie of people around them even uninvited. Hence, always lonely seems a far fetched echo for rich guys. And many rich people have proved time and again, that out of gratitude, paying back to the society by their noble means, none can be lonely anytime. Being happy or unhappy is a state of mind and and an attitude and use of opportunities. Poor too may have many friends and can be happy too as you mentioned, but believe it, humans are very much instinctive and very mean and verymuch prone to spit where it is dirty. Hardly anyone cleans it up. Poor people in general are prone to lonliness as none would bide their time helping those souls. Poor people are abondoned by society in general. They are not well looked upon. Being happy in difficulties for poor is "laachari". Otherwise, being happy in diversity is just a tool to avoid hardships in thoughts for them. But a ...more

Not at all.

Rich or poor, if u have comrades u will be happy , if not u will be unhappy. Comrade = someone who will take a bullet hit 4 u and u the same 4 him.

Though logically, getting such volk IS progressively harder the higher the economic ladder u climb. Because in higher level economic strata, to gather more wealth and safeguard it u do sort-a have to be self centered or ppl just take u for ride and put toppi on u.

If u have a good quality control mechanism as upper level man, then u CAN get comrades, provided u r willing to mix w/ ppl from all spheres of life. By quality control mechanism, u should be able to do a simple test on the person and deduce if he is parasite or comrade.

Comrades make thing go around, and they ARE hard to find., but if u find keep them as Stalin kept Stalingrad as the saying goes......if u have a PRC-DPRK 1950s relations w/ a person, then u WILL be happy by hook or crook.

But then if u get too much into self preservation and using "m ...more

I do not agree. happiness is that comes only if your 6 internal enemies are under control. friends only aid in killing your time so that you get diverted for the time being. being rich or poor is immaterial here. it is only when you stick steadfastly to your dharma will you experience real happiness for that is your only companion here and out of here.
