The world contains two temperate zones, split between the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. The northern temperate zone lies between the Tropic of Cancer at 23.5 degrees north and the Arctic Circle at 66.5 degrees north. The southern temperate zone lies between the Tropic of Capricorn at 23.5 degrees south and the Antarctic Circle at 66.5 degrees south.The northern temperate zone includes the United States, Canada, northern Mexico, the nations north of the Sahara Desert in Africa, all of Europe, most of the Middle East, the northern half of India, Pakistan, Japan and most of Asia except for the southern nations. It also includes the northern Atlantic islands such as Iceland and parts of Greenland. Well the Northern temperate zone is from the tropic of cancer (23.5 degrees north to the arctic circle). So, most of Canada, some of the US, much of western Europe etc. The Southern temperate zone is from 23.5 degrees south latitude to the Antarctic Circle. Peru, South Africa, some of Australia lie in this zone
