He was thinkig too much of himself, and that is why he dangled 3 seats to the congress, which it rightly refused, and the results are there to be seen for all.

It was 50-50 for him.He contested from 2 seats, lost one,won another .This was mainly because he,n,his family behaviour was not good, besides Nithish Kumars\' Govt proved that Bihars\' condition can be improved,n, people liked that,n,rejected his so-called joint front with Paswan in Bihar.

Lalu is very popular on All India level but I feel that he remained cut off from his state and constituency voters for long by remaining too much busy at the Centre and hence lost the charm which he had cast on Bihar for quite some time.
Also, he made mistake by distancing and criticising Congress during elections. I feel that he should have continued the alliance and seat sharing with the Congress and that would have helped him. It is good in one way because he has learnt the lesson and will act appropriately in the next elections.
We should not forget that he has been one of the best Union Railways Minister since indepedence of India.
