Not only Mohammed Rafi there are so many great singers alive all over India who are deserved to adorn Bharat Ratna. But the award is given rarely and also there are lots of other things apart from sheer talent to judge the award.

If Lata Mangeshkar to get Bharat Ratna, that can only be a political decision just to favour local Maharashtrians. Otherwise she does not desrve Bharat Ratna. Those who know her closely only knows her real character. In the past, if a music director was to chose any other female singer, Lata Mangeshkar used to boycot that music director. This was going on for quite a long time of her youth period. Though she is single and earned in crores of rupees, hardly her name is heard in any charity. Asha Bhonsle, her sister is no better. Her daughter was not able to maintain a good neigbhourly relation with co-habitants in the housing society.
