Perehaps the cult of surnames had not started at that time as we do not find any other characters of that time having surnames.

The practice of knowing by cult = i.e. vansh was prevalent. Like Raghuwanshi, Kaurav, Pandav etc. The main classes were Kashatriya, Brahmin, Vaishya or Shoodra.
