Laws are NOT made keeping in view the great benefits they will bring to the society. Laws are made keeping in view how they can be MISUSED by the clever elements in the society.
Recently there was an attempt to make death penalty mandatory for r*ape. It was loudly opposed by women themselves! The reason?
They said this law will endanger the life of the victims. Ra*pists will murder the girl to destroy the evidence. Also that, since death sentence is for Ra*pe then why not kill the girl. They can't hang him twice. Once for r*ape and another time for murder.
